Privacy policy

What data we process

• Account: your email address when you create an account and sign in with a one-time code or a password.
• Household: the household name, its members, invite codes and a log of who joined or was removed (visible to household members under Settings).
• Freezer contents: item names, categories, weight, quantity, when the item was added and its estimated expiry — plus the photo you attach to it.
• Recipes: recipes you import or create, your ratings, when a dish was last made, and its category and tags.
• Meal planning: the preferences you enter (for example allergies and dishes you don't want again) and the messages you send in the planning chat.
• Feedback: subject, message and optionally a contact email when you write via the feedback page.

Photos and AI

Photos you upload are stored in our secure cloud storage and attached to your household's freezer list. When a photo is analysed, it is sent to AI models (Google's Gemini, accessed through the Lovable AI Gateway) that read the items in the image. Photos are used solely to identify the items in your freezer contents.

AI is also used to categorise items, import recipes, translate recipes into Danish, English, German and Spanish, and generate meal suggestions. For that we send relevant content from your household — such as freezer contents, your recipes, your ratings and your preferences.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your card details — we only receive the subscription status (for example whether your household has Premium) and receipts from Stripe. Hver Dag ApS is the seller on the receipt.

Analytics

The site loads Google Tag Manager to measure how the app is used — for example page views and which features are used. We never send personal information in analytics: no email addresses and no freezer contents. Your language choice is stored only locally on your device.

Sharing with others

We do not sell your data. Your data is only shared with sub-processors who process it on our behalf: Lovable Cloud/Supabase (hosting, database, file storage and email delivery), Google (AI models and Google Tag Manager), Stripe (payments) and our email provider for mails such as login codes and receipts.

Data from your household is never shared with other households. Recipes you voluntarily share to the inspiration pool are anonymised and contain no personal information.

Why we may process this data

We process data about your account, household, freezer and recipes to provide the service (GDPR art. 6(1)(b) — contract). Security, abuse prevention and anonymised analytics are processed on the basis of our legitimate interests (art. 6(1)(f)).

Retention

Your data is kept while your account is active. Deleting an item or recipe removes it from your household. If you want your account and data deleted, write to pauli@hver-dag.dk and we will delete them for you.

Security

All traffic is encrypted, and data is separated per household so only household members can see it. The AI features run on the server and always require a valid login.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.dk). Write to pauli@hver-dag.dk to exercise your rights.

Children

The app is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service changes. The current version is always available at freezerhero.com/privacy.
